I have been faced with a little bit of a moral dilemma since the quarantine began and needs of our clients have drastically changed. Do I profit off of the virus?
We did things initially to help our neighbors in business. Offered some services for free. Rushed orders as much as possible, often times within hours of being placed. But there was still a sense of guilt monetizing on someone else's struggles.
This has been a topic of discussion with several of my business owner groups. The answer has never been perfectly clear, until....
My meeting on Wednesday. I had said I wasn't going to sell imprinted face masks. It felt like that was going a step too far. But there I was, virtually surrounded by an awesome group of people. The obvious was pointed out. Those who want branded face masks are going to get them whether I provide them or not.
Well, in 24 hours we turned ourselves around and are now offering facecoverings. We thought through the decoration with our production team and have done things to keep our costs down as much as possible to allow the price point to be as helpful as possible.
While we don't have the perfect product (yet), there is a demand, and we are able to help our clients. In the short time since the announcement, we have been thanked several times for our customer service; a stark reminder that if we didn't offer these, our clients would have been left to fend for themselves on an online platform.
So, thank you to my fellow Master Networkers. This has been a huge boost in energy!
